I enabled dmz in the router and added the local ip for my server. It didn't make any difference unfortunately.

Did you try the server rick?

You mean your server no, if you mean my servers in the past when i did DMZ yes and absolutely fine.
you have to made sure you are putting the correct ip in, start search "cmd.exe" black box opens type "ipconfig"
i can only assume you did something wrong as when you open DMZ it allows traffic both ways.
try youtube also for tips on it. maybe worth another try.

Ok. After some searching i've found that a lot of people are having issues port forwarding with ee's brightbox 2 hub.
Seems it's a common issue that's either fixed with a factory reset or a replacement.

I've reset it and configured dmz. Also uninstalled antivirus and disabled firewall on windows.

I haven't forwarded any ports as i understand this isn't needed if using dmz? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

My friend isn't available to test today. Would someone kindly try joining it to see if the timeout issue is fixed?

I've left it running. Server name is snazzjazz.

you shouldn't have to disable windows firewall either,
I run windows firewall and windows defender and one i pay for called "windows optimizer with advanced system protector"
has no effect on any server i put up.
